If you’re switching from another crypto tax platform to Koinly, this guide will help you make a smooth transition. Migrating is a straightforward process with a few best practices to keep in mind.

General Best Practices

Import your wallets to Koinly - Recommended

The most reliable way to import your blockchain wallet data into Koinly is to directly connect or recreate the wallets from scratch, rather than importing files from another provider. This approach ensures you have a complete and accurate transaction history. For detailed guidance, see our Getting Started article 📖.

Import CSV from another tax calculator

Where possible, Koinly will automatically create new wallets for each exchange/wallet when you import your transaction history file from other tax platforms. However, data gaps may still occur if the previous platform didn’t capture all of your transactions. For the most accurate results, we recommend importing your data from scratch.

How to migrate from specific competitors

Below, you’ll find links to dedicated guides for migrating from popular competitors. These guides will walk you through exporting your data from each platform and importing it into Koinly:

If you're migrating to Koinly from a competitor not listed here, no problem! You can follow our Getting Started guide to import your transaction data. If you have a CSV export from another platform that isn’t importing correctly, feel free to send a sample to our support team so our product team can work on mapping it for future compatibility.

Final steps after migration

  1. Resolve any discrepancies
After importing, Koinly will automatically flag any transaction discrepancies. Follow the steps in our article How to Ensure Your Tax Report is Accurate to review and resolve these issues.

  2. Double-check your balances
Compare your final Koinly portfolio with your account balances on exchanges and wallets to make sure everything is in order.

  3. Reach Koinly Support if needed
If you run into any issues, reach out to our support team who can help you resolve data mismatches and clarify any migration questions.
