About Accountant Licenses
Koinly offers packages for accountants that are priced very competitively.
These packages come in 3 different sizes:
Starter package: 5 licenses
Growth package: 10 licenses
Scale package: 30 licenses

Licenses can be assigned to portfolios (clients) added in your dashboard to generate tax reports. Any client that you create from your accountant dashboard will automatically be assigned a license.

Transaction limit
Starter package licenses - 10,000 transactions
Growth and Scale packages - 25,000 transactions
These are account-wide transaction limits, not the limit per year
If a client has more transactions than the license allows, this can be increased from the Settings → Plans page within the client's portfolio:
Each license includes:
1-year validity, starting from the day of assignment
Access to all tax reports for all years
Unlimited revisions of tax reports
Portfolio limit
You can create up to 20 portfolios (clients) without assigning a license to it
If you already added 20 unlicensed portfolios then, to add new ones, you need to assign a license to one of them or delete some portfolio
There is no limit to how many licensed portfolios you can have
There is no limit to how many portfolios you can be invited to (when the client is the owner of the portfolio and shares access with you)
License expiry
Licenses will expire if they are not assigned to a client within 3 years of purchase.
Once assigned to a client, the license has a validity of 1 year. Once the 1-year validity runs out, the client will be transitioned back to a 'Free' account, which means that you will not be able to generate any tax reports. You can always assign a new license to your client to regain access to the reports.
License Assignment and Reassignment
Koinly CPA licenses are assigned on a per-client basis. Once a license is assigned to a client, it is locked to that client for its validity period and cannot be automatically reused or reassigned to another client upon removal. Licenses are valid for one assignment only. If you need to reallocate a license, Koinly support can assist by manually unassigning it for you. Once this is done, you can refresh your account to see the license freed up and available for use.
Value of CPA license pricing
If you choose a starter package for example, it works out to US$69 per licence, covering 10,000 transactions. The equivalent Koinly plan for individuals with 10,000 transactions is US$199 per plan.
If a client has a small number of transactions (e.g. less than 100 transactions), it may be more cost-effective for them to purchase an individual plan and invite you to their account
Troubleshooting License Issues
For edge cases or unexpected behaviours, such as unavailable licenses after removal or incorrect automatic assignments, contact Koinly Support for assistance. They can manually unassign licenses or help debug allocation issues to ensure your licenses are properly assigned and accessible.
