API sync > Ignore reported balances

This is a setting that can be enabled for any wallet that is synced through an API.

APIs will report the current balances of your wallets but in some cases, these reported balances can be wrong (most commonly when staking as some APIs don't consider staked assets when reporting the balances).

If your reported balances are wrong but the calculated balances are correct, you can ignore the reported balances which tells Koinly to display only the calculated balances.

🟡Note This setting will only affect the dashboard and wallet overview. It will not affect the calculations or reports in any way (because the calculations are not using the reported balances, no matter whether this toggle is ON or OFF).

How to enable "Ignore reported balances"

1. Click on the affected wallet and then click on the Auto-Sync enabled banner:
   
2. Expand Advanced Settings and toggle the option to ON, confirm change by clicking Save & Sync
   
3. Click Sync now
   (balances are only recalculated after a new sync)
